Michael Canfield, President

Michael Canfield, is Valliant’s President & Owner and has over 40 years of leadership in varying industries.  He started Valliant Consulting Group in 1997 in response to the needs of New Mexico tribal communities but has grown to serve diverse organizations across the 48 contiguous states.  He is member of the Pueblo of Laguna.

Kelly Steingreaber, THRP VP Operations / HR Consultant

Kelly Steingreaber, THRP is Valliant’s Vice President and Human Resources Consultant with over 25 years’ experience in management, human resources, and organizational development. She holds a BS from Purdue University and has been with VCG since 1999 specializing in HR, and Organizational Development related projects and programs that include compensation, recruitment, performance management, policy & procedure development, HR process improvement, and strategic planning.  During her career she has been instrumental in working with organizations to create and implement successful HR programs and help organizations align their strategic goals in a way that initiates the results needed to meet the strategic objectives of the organization.  As the leader of VCG’s operations, she oversees/manages the day-to-day activities with an intense focus on the systems and procedures required to accomplish VCGs vision, mission and goals.  She has participated and/or worked on all tribal human resources projects which include compensation studies; HR and compensation policy recommendations; job description creation and update; recruiting and interviewing; and other related projects.

Kim DeFilippis, SPHR, THRP returns to VCG after pursuing other ventures, with over 20 years of experience in management and human resources and a BBA-concentration in HR, from the University of New Mexico. In her leadership roles with Sprint, Hospital Services Corporation, Intuit, Jacobs Engineering, and Albuquerque Publishing Company, Kim has assisted organizations in ensuring equitable and effective staffing levels, employee development and succession initiatives, and compensation and benefits programs. She has a wide variety of experience working with multiple sizes of organizations, in a variety of industries, and managing intricate and delicate matters to arrive at effective management solutions.

Stacie Jackson, Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), SHRM – CP, MBA, an accomplished Senior Human Resources Compensation Professional with recognized achievements in building best-in-class organizations through shaping and driving organizational culture, performance-based recognition programs, employee engagement, workforce planning, and HR alignment with business strategy. As the HR Compensation Manager with the University of New Mexico, Stacie oversees all strategic compensation functions related to the University’s staff employees, ensuring that all services and programs support the University’s mission, values, and objectives. She ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and quality standard and leads the staff compensation initiatives that are responsive to both immediate client needs and the long-term best interests of the institution. Stacie has served as an adjunct Professor in providing instruction to undergraduate students within the Anderson School of Management – Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) program regarding HR Theories and Practice. She holds a MBA from the University of New Mexico.

Julia Kingsley is VCG’s newest team addition. She holds a BA in Tourism Management and a MS in International Management. Julia provides administrative support to the team which includes billing, report review and coordination, and other project duties. With her structured and detailed work, she keeps projects in alignment with VCG’s vision, mission and goals.
